SCTAC Hosts DOT Meeting
 President and CEO of SCTAC, Jody Bryson, with commissioners of the SCDOT
On October 15, 2009, the South Carolina Department of Transportation held its October Commission meeting at SCTAC. This provided a great opportunity for SCDOT to connect with Upstate communities about different projects occurring throughout South Carolina. A large number of public officials and community members attended. The South Carolina Technology and Aviation Center was very pleased to host the event, and a tour of the center concluded the commission's visit to the Upstate. |

Iraqui Ambassador: Thank You
"The Iraqi ambassador to the United States came to Greenville County on Friday to thank South Carolina families who lost loved ones in the Iraq war for the sacrifices they made to rid his country of a dictator and make democracy possible.
Ambassador Samir Sumaida'ie was guest of honor during a special ceremony at the South Carolina Technology and Aviation Center, formerly the Donaldson Center, in southern Greenville County."

Phil Southerland Memorial
On October 19, 2009, SCTAC in conjunction with the Donaldson Center Fire Department, unveiled a memorial to Mr. Phil Southerland. Mr. Southerland served on both the SCTAC and Donaldson Center Fire Department boards for many years, dedicating his services to further growth and progress in the Donaldson Center area.
SCTAC's partnership with the Donaldson Center Fire Department to dedicate this memorial symbolizes the unique relationship Mr. Southerland had with both boards and continued relationship shared by both organizations. Mr. Southerland, also known as "Mr. Donaldson" for his outstanding service, passed away in February of 2009, but his memory and tireless involvement will always be remembered and treasured. |
