Taxiway B at Donaldson Field is Now Open

Taxiway B at South Carolina Technology and Aviation Center’s (SCTAC) Donaldson Field opened for air traffic on Thursday, February 2, 2012. The completion of this important infrastructure will significantly impact operations, especially those of Lockheed Martin, contributing to a $1.4 billion impact to local and state-wide economy.

Goodwyn | Mills | Cawood to Provide Consulting Services to SCTAC

Effective January 1, 2012, Goodwyn Mills and Cawood (GMC) will provide professional services to South Carolina Technology and Aviation Center’s (SCTAC) Donaldson Field airfield. GMC will provide master planning and planning feasibility; taxiway design, widening and extension; airfield lighting and navigation aids; entrance roads and parking area designs; and a range of other consulting services for SCTAC.

Allen Inglesby Named Director Emeritus at SCTAC

The South Carolina Technology & Aviation Center (SCTAC) named Allen Inglesby Director Emeritus of the SCTAC Board of Directors today recognizing his committed service and leadership.  During his 30 years of involvement with the SCTAC Board of Directors, Inglesby served as Chairman and Member-At-Large, saw the re-branding of SCTAC as well as several key investments and expansions totaling well over $350 million. 

Carbures, LLC Launches New Facility in Greenville County

The South Carolina Department of Commerce and the Greenville Area Development Corporation today announced that Carbures, LLC will establish its first American facility at the South Carolina Technology & Aviation Center (SCTAC) in Greenville County. The $6.5 million investment is expected to generate at least 50 new jobs over five years.

Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast Equipment to be Installed at SCTAC

The ITT Corporation, on behalf of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) selected South Carolina Technology & Aviation Center (SCTAC) as a site to deploy Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) equipment.  This equipment is part of the Surveillance and Broadcast Services (SBS) program, which is part of the FAA’s next generation ATC technology and represents the first major step in the next generation of air traffic control.
